KARACHI, Oct 7: The participants in a rally taken out against an anti-Islam film made in the United States have demanded that the government take steps at diplomatic level for legislation of an international law against blasphemy.

The participants in the rally organised by the Jamaat-i-Islami Karachi chapter on Sunday, condemned the US for the sacrilegious film that hurt the Muslims across the world and also flayed the “apologetic behaviour” of Muslim rulers.

The participants were holding placards and banners inscribed with anti-US slogans.

Addressing the rally, JI leaders Asadullah Bhutto and  Mohammed Hussain Mehanti said that the entire Muslim world was united against a nefarious conspiracy of blasphemous moves.

They urged President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf to take concrete steps at international level to make a law against blasphemy.

Mr Bhutto said the US on the one hand was targeting innocent Muslims, including women and children, through drone attacks and, on the other hand, was hurting sentiments of Muslims through blasphemous acts.
